Joo-in ist eine selbstbewusste, energiegeladene und offene Schülerin. Doch als Su-ho (KIM Jeong-sik) eine Petition in der Schule startet, um zu verhindern, dass ein verurteilter Sexualstraftäter zurück in die Nachbarschaft zieht, bröckelt Joo-ins Leichtigkeit und lockere Art. Joo-in is a confident, energetic, and outgoing student. At school, she gets along great with her friends, embraces her romantic relationships, and has a good relationship with her mother and younger brother. However, when Su-ho (KIM Jeong-sik) launches a school-wide petition to prevent a convicted sex offender from moving back into the neighborhood, Joo-in's carefree demeanor and easygoing nature begin to crumble. What follows is a poignant narrative centered on Joo-in’s character, a glimpse into how a traumatic experience can shape a family's life, and an emotional, delicately told story of pain and resilience. 

Director YOON Ga-eun has secured a firm place in the Korean cinematic landscape with her impressive coming-of-age films. Her stories often revolve around strong female protagonists, and The World of Love is no exception.
