Die Schülerinnen In-hye (PARK Hye-jin), Seo-hee (LEE Seung-yeon), Jung-ae (PARK Hyo-eun) und Soo-min (CHOI Soo-in) verbindet eins: Sie wissen nicht, was sie mit ihrer Zukunft anfangen sollen. Mit schlechten Noten, Einsamkeit und schwierigen familiären Situationen konfrontiert, werden sie in eine spezielle Klasse gesteckt, um sich auf die Universität vorzubereiten. Als eine von ihnen einen Ort im Wald entdeckt, beschließen sie, dort einen Unterschlupf zu bauen: Ein Versteck, in dem sie ihrem Alltag entfliehen können und die kleinen Tiere aus dem Schulzoo retten. Während ihre Freundschaft langsam wächst, werden sie mit Herausforderungen konfrontiert.
The Gorals ist eine Coming-of-Age-Geschichte, die sich sensibel mit schwierigen Themen auseinandersetzt. Regisseur YOO Jae-wook fängt das Gefühl ein, jung und orientierungslos zu sein, und zeigt zugleich, wie Freundschaft Licht in Gegenwart und Zukunft bringen kann.

High school girls In-hye (PARK Hye-jin), Seo-hee (LEE Seung-yeon), Jung-ae (PARK Hyo-eun) und Soo-min (CHOI Soo-in) are brought together by the fact that they don't know what to do with their future. Struggling with poor grades, loneliness, and difficult family situations, they are placed in a special class to prepare for university. When one of them discovers a secluded spot in the woods, they decide to build a shelter there: a place to escape their daily lives and to rescue the small animals from the school’s “zoo.” As their friendship grows and deepens, they are confronted with challenges.
The Gorals is a coming-of-age story that approaches difficult themes with sensitivity. Director YOO Jae-wook captures the feeling of being young and lost, while showing how friendship can bring light to both the present and the future.
